Atmospheric and large oil painting by the Dutch-Belgian artist Jaak van Wijck (1870–1946), titled “Herfstdroom”.
The work depicts an impressive autumn forest, rendered in warm orange, brown and green tones. Van Wijck was primarily known as a landscape painter and painted many forest, heath and nature scenes in the Kempen and the Antwerp area.

Jaak van Wijck werd in 1870 geboren in Ginneken en overleed in 1946 in Antwerpen. Hij volgde onder meer opleiding aan de Koninklijke Academie voor Schone Kunsten in Antwerpen en verwierf bekendheid met zijn landschappen en natuurtaferelen.
Een groot en bijzonder decoratief werk van een gekende Nederlands-Belgische landschapschilder.
