Encounter in Blue
Encounter in Blue explores the intimacy of a shared moment through two figures that seem to inhabit a space suspended between closeness and silence. Their faces, with closed eyes and serene expressions, do not seek to establish literal dialogue; it is the presence of the guitar that introduces a different form of communication, turning music into an invisible link between the two characters.
The composition is articulated through a contemporary cubist language, visible in the simplification of the faces, the construction of the figures from planes, and the deliberate break with traditional perspective. However, geometry yields to a more gestural and sensitive painting, where brushstrokes add humanity and movement to the surface.
Blue functions as the emotional axis of the work. Turquoise, cobalt, and watery tones traverse the space and envelop the characters in an introspective atmosphere. In front of them, the reds and magentas of the female figure and the bright oranges of the guitar create a warm chromatic tension that balances the serenity of the background. The color is not intended to reproduce reality, but to express emotional states.
The guitar thus acquires a presence that transcends its object status. Its intense luminosity makes it a third element within the encounter: a kind of mediator between two inner worlds that, although independent, find a point of connection.
Encounter in Blue ultimately speaks of what can be shared without words: closeness, contemplation, and those moments when silence can also become a form of dialogue.
