Original manifesto created for the exhibition "De Nittis e la rivoluzione dello sguardo", hosted at Palazzo dei Diamanti in Ferrara from 1 December 2019 to 13 April 2020.
The graphic reproduces one of Giuseppe De Nittis' most famous masterpieces, Tra le spighe del grano (particolare), 1873, a work belonging to a private collection. The image, characterized by refined luministic sensibility and a modern layout, perfectly synthesizes the artist's poetics, between naturalism and impressionist suggestions.
The exhibition, organized by Ferrara Arte in collaboration with the Municipality of Ferrara, the Gallerie d'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea di Ferrara (GAMC) and the Emilia-Romagna Region, celebrated one of the major protagonists of Italian painting in the 19th century, deepening his relationship with modernity, Paris and Impressionism through an important selection of paintings, pastels and engravings.
