Description from the seller
REPOSO
Original work by the visual artist Ernesto Mayet Silva, Cuban-born and trained at the San Alejandro Art Academy in Havana, where he completed his studies in 2002. “REPOSO” is a work created in 2026 using acrylic on canvas, with dimensions of 54 × 46 cm. The painting represents a head at rest, interpreted through an expressionist and contemporary language. The work is characterized by a gestural and visible brushstroke, with a rich application of medium and a pronounced contrast between warm tones—ochers, earth tones, oranges and reddish hues—and blue and green tones in the surroundings. The artist moves away from a strictly realistic representation to convey serenity and stillness through a free interpretation, where color, texture and brushwork take on special prominence. The work is hand-signed by the artist on the lower right and is in very good condition. It is an original and unique piece, coming directly from the artist’s studio, and may be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by the author. It will be carefully packaged to ensure proper protection during transport.
