After a fruitful career in advertising, Willie Manders (born 1944) continued as an independent artist. In 2020, a painting he painted was exhibited at the Rijksmuseum as part of a Rembrandt exhibition. Currently, the way light falls plays a major role in his work. Coupled with this is the layering of colors, which creates an optimally vibrant effect.
