Description from the seller
THE SWIMMER
Original work by visual artist Ernesto Mayet Silva, of Cuban origin and trained at the San Alejandro Art Academy in Havana, where he completed his studies in 2002. “THE SWIMMER” is a work created in 2026 using acrylic on canvas, with dimensions 60 × 80 cm (height × width). The work is a free, personal interpretation of an urban sculpture located in Spain, reinterpreted by the artist from an expressionist and contemporary language. The figure of the swimmer appears integrated into an urban architectural setting, where the artist transforms the scene through an intense color palette and a gestural, energetic, and visible brushstroke. The contrasts between blues, purples, oranges, reds and yellows create a vibrant atmosphere and bring great dynamism to the composition. The work does not aim to faithfully reproduce the original sculpture, but to offer a new pictorial reading of it, emphasizing movement, color, matter, and expressiveness. It is hand-signed by the artist at the bottom right and is in very good conservation condition. It is an original and unique piece, coming directly from the artist's studio, and may be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by the author. It will be carefully packaged to ensure its proper protection during transport.
