Porcelain urn-table lamp dating to the 1980s (estimated 1980–1990) from France, attributed to Louis Drimmer.
Description from the seller
French ceramic urn floor lamp by Louis Drimmer, Onet-le-Château, France, 1980s. The classically shaped urn bodies are inspired by the neoclassical urn repertoire of the French decorative arts, here translated into the high-gloss style of the 1980s.
The salmon-pink, enameled body widens at the shoulder and flows into collars with copper luster at the neck and foot. The lamp rests on a matching, stepped ceramic base. The contrast between the soft pastel tone and the warm metallic gleam is characteristic of Drimmer’s “Haute Couture” production. The factory built its reputation with hand-finished ceramic lamp bases, enriched with precious luster decorations in gold, platinum and copper.
Signed in script: L. Drimmer.
Louis Drimmer founded his lamp factory in 1945 in Onet-le-Château, France. He produced hand-finished ceramic lamp bases and hand-sewn lamp shades according to the “Haute Couture” tradition. The products were distributed in about twenty countries. The factory still releases new collections at the major Parisian interior and decoration fairs.
This piece is supplied with an attribution mark. I am convinced it is fully authentic and take full responsibility for any issues related to an incorrect attribution.
