A completed pair of World War I French trench art vases in brass, dating to 1900–1910, each 30 cm tall with a 9 cm width and depth, produced in excellent condition.

Completed pair of World War I French 30 cm trench art vases.Artistic Details and CraftsmanshipThese pieces display the specific design elements and techniques used to transform battlefield debris into art:Art Nouveau Influence: The stylized, flowing organic stems and distinct flower blooms reflect the Art Nouveau style popular across Europe during the 1910s.Repoussé Technique: The intricate design was created from the inside out using hammers and punches to raise the brass metal, giving the petals and leaves a pronounced three-dimensional texture.Chased / Hammered Background: The textured, dimpled pattern surrounding the floral art was achieved by thousands of tiny, individual strikes with a stippling tool, helping the polished flowers stand out.Frested Top and Trim: The crimping and open fretwork cutouts along the top rim and bottom border show advanced metalworking skill, making them resemble true decorative home vases rather than weapon fragments.
