Description from the seller
"A unique opportunity for the serious collector of satire, press freedom and graphic art. This lot contains a monumental archive of 711 copies of the legendary magazine Charlie Hebdo, founded by François Cavanna and Professor Choron.
The core of the collection:
The early years (1971, 1972 and 1973) are double present:
One copy per issue is bound in the original collector’s volumes (perfect for preservation and consultation).
A second, loose copy of each issue is present in excellent condition (unfolded).
Decorative value:
Because the early years are double, the loose issues can be framed. With the over 150 covers from the first three years alone you can fill a wall of about 16 square meters with iconic art by giants such as Reiser, Cabu and Wolinski.
Details of the lot:
Full years: 1971, 1972, 1973, 1974 and 1977.
Large series (incomplete): 1975 to 1981, 1992 and 1993 (see list for missing issues).
Condition: The newspapers are in very good condition, not galled (as originally published) and very well preserved.
Shipping:
Note: this is a very heavy lot that will be shipped in 3 sturdy boxes to ensure quality.
An extraordinary time capsule that brings to life the history of freedom of speech and sharp French satire."
Incomplete year - 1975 (missing issues 265-266-267)
Incomplete year - 1976 (I myself have issues: 308 to 320 included)
