Leonidas „Trackmaster“ – Swiss mechanical stopwatch – Vintage sport/timekeeping instrument

Offered is an original mechanical stopwatch from Leonidas, model „Trackmaster“, manufactured in Switzerland.

The piece has a decidedly characteristic design and hails from the classic era of mechanical sports and competition timekeeping. Particularly striking is the large, highly legible dial with its 60-second scale and the centrally positioned 30-minute counter.

The minute counter is divided into red and green segments, giving the stopwatch an extraordinary and very decorative appearance. This color coding originally served to facilitate especially quick orientation during timing.

On the dial are:

* LEONIDAS brand logo
* model designation „trackmaster“
* inscription „MADE IN SWITZERLAND“
* large central seconds hand
* 30-minute totalizer with red/green sector division

Operation is through the distinctive pushers on the case. Especially nice are the differently labeled control elements with red, green and black color rings, which fit superbly with the dial design.

On the back there is the raised marking „H. W. RODE“. The stopwatch also features its red carrying/holding cord, which underscores the sporty-technical character of the piece.

The black case has a large ribbed back and lies very well in the hand due to its form.

Condition:

The stopwatch is in an age-appropriate, authentic vintage condition.

There are signs of wear and aging on the case, glass and dial. On the dial there are also older handwritten or pencil-like markings. These were intentionally not removed and belong to the history and original use of the piece.

The numerous detail photographs are part of the condition description and convey a very good impression of the actual state of preservation.

An interesting collectible for lovers of Leonidas, historical stopwatches, Swiss watchmaking, sport timekeeping and technical vintage design.

Thanks to the large high-contrast dial, the colored totalizer fields and the accordingly color-coded pushers, this Leonidas Trackmaster is also an especially decorative object for a watch collection, workshop, display case or historical sports exhibit.
