“ARCHEMISIO”
is a contemporary painter renowned for his hyperrealist oil-on-canvas works, where he blends photographic precision with the dramatic lighting typical of Caravaggio. Raised on the streets of Rome, from a young age he was fascinated by the Baroque masterpieces on display in the city’s churches and museums, developing a passion for the contrast between light and shadow and for the emotional intensity of the figures.
After studying at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma, Archemisio traveled across Europe and the United States, refining his hyperrealist technique through the study of modern artists. However, his style is distinguished by a Caravaggesque heritage: his works capture meticulous details (from wrinkles in the skin to reflections on an object) yet are immersed in a theatrical, directional light that sculpts volumes and creates an atmosphere rich in symbolism.
