Egoless takes Lionel Nemeth's exploration of the gaze and the body even further. This piece poses a new question: what remains when we remove the ego, the conscious identity that defines us?

The body is here present and at the same time absent. The figure persists, but its head, the seat of the self and of identity, dissolves progressively into the density of the thread. This is not vulnerability, not abandonment, not introspection. It is a pure dissolution. The body remains, stripped of the "I" that claimed it.

Through his works, Nemeth explores different facets of the gaze on the body: from non-gaze to the unconscious of being seen, from the inner gaze to the progressive disappearance of the subject. Egoless adds a new dimension to this ongoing inquiry.

Looking at Egoless is to confront what we are beyond consciousness. It is a meditation on the possibility of existing without the burden of identity.
