Description from the seller
Bronze monkey musician from the 19th century
The statuette depicts a musician monkey dressed in a ruff and a jacket, holding cymbals in its paws. This type of anthropomorphic bronze sculpture, patinated, is part of the tradition of animal whimsy inspired by European art of the 18th and early 19th centuries.
The piece is particularly detailed: finely carved fur, the facial expression, the decorated costume, and the hands holding the cymbals.
Lovely dark patina with lighter highlights on the raised parts, due to use and time.
The photos are an integral part of the description of the objects and complement its presentation. Please examine them carefully before any commitment
The item will be carefully packed and shipped with a tracking number, to ensure fast and secure delivery.
