Description from the seller
The White Island
from the series Habited Landscapes
The series Habited Landscapes explores the relationship between living beings and the landscape as an inseparable unit. People, animals, houses, towns and small settlements appear among mountains, forests, lakes and coastal environments, not as isolated elements, but as presences that are part of the territory and reveal different ways of inhabiting it. Each work builds an imagined place that evokes memory, refuge and belonging, inviting the viewer to walk through landscapes that exist more in experience and memory than in a particular place.
The compositions are organized through a succession of planes that guides the gaze through the landscape, establishing a continuous visual rhythm between the relief, the vegetation, the water and the different forms of life. In some works, a construction acts as a reference point; in others, it is the animals who traverse, cross or remain in the territory, introducing movement, scale and a silent narrative. The forms are simplified and connected by fluid lines that unify the space and generate a sense of balance among all its elements.
Color constitutes the main constructive resource of the series. Each plane has its own chromatic identity that dialogues with the others to create depth, atmosphere and light. The coexistence of warm and cool tones transforms the landscape into a pictorial interpretation that transcends literal representation and turns the territory into a space of contemplation.
In Habited Landscapes, inhabiting does not mean solely building or staying, but also moving through, crossing and becoming part of an environment. Human, animal or architectural presence is organically integrated into nature, giving rise to timeless scenes where territory and life participate in the same visual structure. Each work thus proposes a reflection on the landscape as a shared space of calm, memory and identity, constructed through the rhythm of forms, light and color.
Authenticity of the work:
Each piece is hand-signed on the back of the canvas, guaranteeing its authenticity and preserving the visual purity of the painted surface. The signature includes the title of the work, the year of realization and Ella Suárez’s signature. The piece is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity (COA), which certifies its origin and authorship.
Clarifying note:
Reference images may exhibit slight tonal variations from the original work due to lighting in the spaces, which can affect contrast or color temperature, as well as differences between display devices. The photographs have been made with the greatest possible care.
Shipping details:
The work will be sent rolled in a protective tube, a method that ensures its safety during transport and offers a more economical and sustainable option. The canvas includes an additional 5 cm margin on each side to facilitate re-stretching, which can be carried out by the buyer or by a professional.
