Born in 1974, I am self-taught.
After an initial period dedicated to sculpture, there was a long hiatus lasting nearly twenty years. From December 2014 I resumed with the “two dimensions” for reasons of time and space, setting sculpture aside and focusing on creating acrylic paintings.
I love painting abstract landscapes, but recently I have been pushing myself to also paint faces of people, both imagined and real.
For me, painting is about “freezing time” in that exact moment; a painting of mine is often a faded memory, so my works are “worn, eroded by time.” Sometimes my paintings depict street wall scenes also eroded by time, with moss and mushrooms that grow on the surface over time.
The inexorable passage of time is the main theme of my works.
Coming from a wonderful experience with clay manipulation, I love sculpture, the third dimension, the sense of touch, and my paintings are often characterized by reliefs that are perceptible to both touch and sight.
