West German Bay Keramik ceramic henkelvase designed by Bodo Mans, a handleless Krug with an asymmetrical, wavy rim and a uniformly glazed finish, measuring 40 cm high, 23 cm wide, 39 cm deep and 13 cm in diameter, weighing 5.18 kg, in good used condition with minor signs of aging and spots, dating to the late 1960s or early 1970s.
Description from the seller
Beautiful vintage West German Henkel vase.
This specific Bay Keramik model was designed as a pitcher-style piece (also known as a Henkel vase or Krug, although this model has no handle). The asymmetric, wavy rim on top is the deliberately integrated pouring spout.
Because the glaze flows smoothly and evenly over the rim all around, you can see that the form came straight out of the factory this way. There are no cracks or signs of damage.
This is a beautiful and iconic design by the renowned designer Bodo Mans for Bay Keramik from the late 1960s or early 1970s.
