Gerhard Liebenthron, Bremen (1925-2005)
From 1945-1951 Liebenthron studied at the Staatliche Kunstschule Bremen in the potter’s class of Else Krieg & Dorothea Colberg-Tjadens. In 1951 Liebenthron was an assistant there to the sculptor Prof. Goersemann.
After finishing his time at the Kunstschule, he opened his own workshop on Boettcherstraße, Bremen (in 1952).
The work of Gerhard Liebenthron can be found in several museums in Germany, such as the Ceramic Museum in Berlin, the Focke Museum in Bremen, and the Hetiens Museum in Düsseldorf. He was a member of the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Kunsthandwerk Bremen.
