Description from the seller
Water is the primordial element, the dominant theme, the source of life par excellence, the medium to entrust with the transport of dreams, desires, and the most secret impulses. Here the world of the human emerges from the textures of a strong, exuberant physicality; with the study of the figure immersed in water, the Collection is born, perceived with an undefined touch that pointed its definition to the passing time, among people, under the sun, in the reflection of the water..
The artist Lucia Mignosa, known as Luminisa,
during the classical studies that the 60s demanded, thanks to the exuberant teachings of a art history professor, I knew and fell in love with that colorful world of beauty to which I remained faithful and fascinated for life. But only later, casually finding in my hands a creative magazine from that era, experienced as a window into the artistic world, following their guidance, I began to create objects to admire, ranging from art, to fashion, to objets d’art, in the perpetual search and attempt to express with art enthusiasm and joy as an homage to life. The explosion of pleasure in creating, experimenting, and persevering in seeking the maximum expression of beauty pushed me, despite family and work commitments and the difficulties that the 70s promised a woman, to attend studies of renowned Sicilian masters of that era, to learn as much technique and experience as possible, without ever losing that single weekly appointment that made me travel 70 km to reach him. And it is by letting myself be inspired and carried by their excellence that I refine my views and perfect the technique, achieving my expressive splendor in Luminisa, my artistic name, a life dedicated to the playful world of cheerfulness, freshness, and brightness that is realized in the extreme representation of games in water and bodies suspended in time in a playful prelude to cheer. A sensitivity that today I express in painting, sculpture, and engravings, which have a precise aim: to translate into broad visions of play and into moments of meditation and ecstasy a meaningful reality that has always resided in me.. Strong, decisive tones, elements of artistic gymnastics, rings in the water, promote the concept of my emotions, bearers of a playful, artistic complicity with my eternal serene mood..
Selected for two consecutive years by the Luxemburg Art Prize for artistic merit (2024-2025),
Past works are part of Arianna Sartori’s Collection and are included in the catalog Arte Moderna e Contemporanea 2017 by Anna Sartori and in the Museo delle Cappuccine in Bagnacavallo (Italy),
Signum collective in Troina with several works presented, International talents show.
Personal bibliography with works, published by Arianna Sartori in the book La Bicicletta.
