Description from the seller
70 ex libris / small-format prints for a named individual, made by the prominent Belgian artist Martin Baeyens. Largely screen print, partly CGD. Signed, affixed.
Martin Baeyens (1943) is a painter, graphic artist and designer. His work is regularly exhibited both domestically and abroad, and he already has more than a hundred solo exhibitions to his name. For forty years he has been a lecturer at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent. He is also active with universities in China, Turkey and Cyprus. He has an opus list of hundreds of ex libris and other small graphics.
He paints, draws or screen-prints landscapes. Baeyens combines these with maps and other kinds of maps, with tables and statistics, with historical documents. He often also provides text that creates a historical context. Nature and above all the balance between technology and nature are the starting point of his work.
The formats are diverse, the largest 80x50 mm, the smallest 40x30 mm. Original pieces, not replicas, all in good condition.
