With the cube_22 series of works, the reduction to the essential is pursued consistently further. From compact basalt blocks, sculptural bodies emerge in which a few precisely placed interventions open and structure the massive stone. Natural fracture surfaces meet clear cuts and calm geometries. The works move between closure and openness, heaviness and lightness, and derive their impact from the dialogue of material, space, and proportion.
