Very attractive Vintage Murano 'Scavo' Glass Amphora Vase – Attributed to Seguso / Cenedese – ca. 1960/1970

Beautiful hand-blown vintage design vase shaped like an antique Roman amphora (pilgrim bottle), crafted on the famous glass island Murano (Venice, Italy) around the 1960s/1970s. This stylish vase is very likely to be attributed to renowned glass factories such as Seguso Vetri d'Arte or Gino Cenedese, known for their high-quality archaeological collections.

The vase is executed in the iconic Scavo technique. During the artisanal blowing, mineral powders and ash are embedded in the glass to imitate the characteristic, rough and cloudy texture of an ancient excavation. This creates a beautiful organic contrast with the smooth, transparent, manually applied handles and the trumpet-shaped neck.

Condition and authenticity:

The vase is in excellent, original vintage condition and is free of later usage damage, cracks, or restorations.

As ultimate proof of pure craftsmanship, the piece bears the authentic 'fingerprint' of the glassmaker:

* The base displays a clear, manually broken off and cut pontil mark.
* The shown irregular edge at the base of the handle is not damage, but an original and sharp cut trace from the glassblowing rod (tagliante).
* The brown/beige mineral color variations are fully fused into the glass and inherently part of the original Scavo patina.
