Nicole Lubbers - Under XL

Nicole Lubbers is a Dutch visual artist from the eastern part of the country. She is known for her innovative and idiosyncratic approach to art and works with various techniques and materials. In her work color, movement, expression and emotion play an important role. Themes such as resilience, strength, transformation and overcoming challenges regularly inspire her creations.

Her international career has developed strongly in recent years. Lubbers was named Artist of the Year 2024 at the Belgrade Biennale, received the Institutional Award of the Municipality of Montecosaro and achieved second place at the World Art Awards as Most Innovative Artist 2024. Additionally she was listed among the 100 best female artists in the world and recognized as Master in Art.

Internationally her work has been seen and planned for exhibitions in, among others, New York, Venice, Florence, Belgrade, Belgium, China and Montecosaro, alongside exhibitions in Dutch galleries.

A notable highlight is Beyond the Surface, a solo exhibition on Times Square in New York. In addition Nicole, together with artist Michael Lam, presents the exhibition Harmony in Motion: Two Artists, One Vision. Two different artistic worlds come together and form a joint dialogue around movement, color, creativity and transformation.

Nicole Lubbers' work is more than a visual artwork. Her compositions invite reflection on perseverance, growth and overcoming challenges. The powerful colors and dynamic imagery make her work a striking statement within both modern and classical interiors.

Mixed technique – digitally created artwork, hand-painted

This artwork is executed in a mixed technique. The base is a digitally created painting that is printed on canvas and then hand-painted and finished by Nicole Lubbers. Digital art and traditional painting come together in one artwork.

This specific work contains no relief or sculptural elements. The strength lies in the image composition, the colors and the combination of the digital base with the hand-painted finish.

Delivery

The artwork is delivered unframed and without a stretcher frame. You receive it as rolled canvas. This allows you to determine how you want to present the work after receipt. For example you can have the canvas stretched on a frame by a framer and, if desired, framed.

In addition to her work as a visual artist, Nicole Lubbers is also known as a doll maker. The artwork is delivered with a certificate of authenticity.
