Pair of antique crystal carafes with silver mounts – "Wilhelmina" cut – Albertus Fontani, Amsterdam – ca. 1910 (2)
Object: Set of two conical drinking or whiskey carafes.
Material: Hand-cut crystal with a fine diamond and fan pattern ("Wilhelmina" cut).
Silver content: Second-grade Dutch silver (.833), marked with the sword (used between 1906-1953).
Silversmith: Albertus Christiaan Fontani Jr., Amsterdam (master mark AF in oval).
Specialization: Fontani was renowned in the Amsterdam silver world for producing high-quality mountwork for luxury crystal goods, tableware components and small silverware.
