Title: Moeris Anchor Pocket Watch No Magnetic (Circa 1900)
Antique Moeris silver pocket watch, anchor caliber, enamel dial and commemorative medals.
Aesthetic description: Metal case with raised vegetal relief motifs on its back cover. White enamel dial with black Roman numerals, outer minute scale in Arabic numerals, and seconds subdial at six o'clock. Gold filigree hands in Louis XV style. Approximate diameter 46.90 mm and weight 65.46 g.
Technical and mechanical description: Manual-wind mechanical movement with Swiss anchor escapement and anti-magnetic components ("Non Magnetic"). Dust cover engraved with the Moeris logo (Fritz Moeri, St.-Imier) and the gold and silver medals obtained at international exhibitions (notably Geneva 1896 and Paris 1900).
History and rarities: Manufactured by the prestigious Swiss house Moeris in the late 19th or early 20th century. The engraving of the universal exhibition medals on the inner top cover testifies to international recognition of its precision and technical quality in the golden age of pocket watchmaking.
