Valentino Sport - Bomber jacket - Vintage

Original vintage jacket signed Valentino Sport, a very rare archival piece produced and distributed in Italy by Ellesse S.p.A. under license between the late eighties and the early nineties. This garment represents a perfect blend of Valentino’s elegance and Ellesse’s historic sportswear technical know-how.

The design features a front section characterized by the large Valentino embroidery running vertically along the covered zip closure. The back and sleeves show a clean black fabric cut, where the iconic multicolored geometric and tribal Aztec-inspired band stands out and runs along the edges of the large fixed hood.

The garment is equipped with a practical front zip closure, comfortable side pockets, and an adjustable drawstring at the bottom with Valentino-branded metal ends. The interior is fully lined and quilted in a vivid contrasting red. The collar is high and protective, with a windproof two-snap closure in gunmetal-bronze metal customized with the V logo.

The outer fabric is 100% polyester, ideal for wind protection. The lining and interior are 100% nylon with soft insulating polyester padding. The jacket carries all the original historic labels from the era, including the Ellesse S.p.A. production label and the indication of the Italian textile law of 1973 that guarantees its vintage authenticity.

The large front embroidery and geometric details are in excellent condition, with vivid colors and perfectly intact seams.

Important note on size and actual measurements. Although the label lists Italian size 42, the garment has an archive vintage cut that is markedly oversized and ample. The precise flat measurements are 56 cm across the shoulders, 61 cm armpit to armpit, 74 cm total length from the shoulder, and 57 cm sleeve length.

It fits comfortably like a modern women’s Medium or Large, or as a men’s Small/Medium, making it perfect also as a unisex piece for a relaxed streetwear look. The garment is in overall excellent vintage condition.
