Description from the seller
The beating heart of the body of work, finally found. On a white concrete terrace overlooking a cove, a convertible in a deep garnet red, lacquered and vibrant, with a domed hood and gleaming chrome. Leaning against the wing, a brunette in a white one-piece swimsuit, hair piled up, ivory sunglasses, one leg crossed over the other: she gazes toward the horizon, sovereign. Down below, a cobalt and turquoise sea, with bold saturation, where a few bathers dive and float, a pink buoy; to the right, the white stairs and the cubic volumes of a Mediterranean villa perched in the cliff. Semiotically, the axis is classical and perfectly held: the red of the car against the blue of the abyss, the white of the swimsuit and the stone as breath. The woman stands at the edge — of the cliff, of departure, of desire. Subtle embonpoint, full midday light, stark shadows.
