Hippo Trippo joins the Where the Abstract and Nature Merge series, a set of works that explores the relationship between the animal world, contemporary abstraction, and the language of urban art.
In this composition, the silhouette of a hippopotamus emerges expressively through successive layers of paint, gestural lines, spray, spontaneous writing, and drips. The natural texture of the linen canvas remains visible in several points of the work, becoming an integral part of the composition and reinforcing its organic character.
The words “Born to Be”, “Nature” and “Free Spirit” introduce a narrative dimension that evokes freedom, identity, and the power of nature. The combination of spontaneous gestures and figurative elements creates a balance between the instinctive and the urban, allowing different readings depending on the observer’s perspective.
