A. Ascencio presents Contratiempo - XL, a unique vertical acrylic on canvas work from 2026, measuring 100 x 70 cm, hand-signed on the reverse, with a COA, produced in Spain and sold directly from the artist, depicting fashion in a dynamic, multicolour composition.
Description from the seller
"Contratiempo" is part of the series "Ritmos", a set of works that explore movement, music, and the body as a space of expression and freedom.
The figure appears captured in a moment of maximum tension, when balance depends on the next step. The inclined posture, the torsion of the torso, and the direction of the legs build a dynamic composition where movement remains suspended.
The painting reduces space to large planes of intense color to concentrate all attention on the gesture. The vibrant yellow of the background, the deep blue of the body, and the pink and orange accents create a strong chromatic contrast that amplifies the sense of energy. The brushstroke, visible and decisive, preserves the immediacy of the process and makes color the main builder of volume.
The work proposes a reflection on the body as a territory of rhythm, identity, and presence, where each gesture leaves a trace and each movement contains an expressive possibility.

Brief Bio: I am especially interested in creating compositions that offer the viewer a point of view with which they can identify. Whether through discomfort, serenity, or contemplation, my intention is to generate a space for reflection and questioning. Pinturally, I am drawn to vibrant colors, strong saturations, and fresh tonal ranges. I find a great source of inspiration in observing our social and natural environment. I often like to imagine that I observe the planet from very far away; that symbolic distance allows me to rethink reality from another perspective. I also explore the realm of femininity, addressing its multiple dimensions from a personal, sensitive, and introspective perspective."
