This superb and imposing artistic piece reinterprets the iconic statue of Lady Justice under the sublime philosophy and aesthetics of Kintsugi, the Japanese art of embellishing fractures with precious metals. The imposing marble figure, firmly holding the scales and the sword, appears completely interwoven by an intricate map of gleaming cracks filled with repousse gold, masterfully suggesting that true justice is not infallible or unchangeable, but a human and divine ideal that strengthens and gains its greatest value through the repair of mistakes and resilience. Framed in a celestial atmosphere of dramatic clouds, ornamental flowers and a large geometric gold halo, the work transcends classical legal symbolism to become a powerful allegory of balance, social restoration and the beauty that arises from fracture and reconstruction.
