-----
Németh clearly rejected regime-loyal Socialist Realism and instead oriented himself toward Western art movements such as German Expressionism and Fauvism. His painting is characterized by intense color structure, impulsive brushwork and a mosaic-like composition, often with clear contours and color fields. He described himself as a "Painter of the Volcano"—inspired by the dynamics and texture of cooling lava.
-----
The artist had solo and group exhibitions, e.g. at the Műcsarnok Gallery Budapest 1981 and the Ernst Museum 2000. Participation in the National Watercolor Biennials. Awards include, among others: Prize on the 100th anniversary of the Pest–Buda Association, István-Ilosvai Varga Prize 1996, honor by the city of Szentendre through the Ferenczy Museum for collection exhibitions. His works are in numerous public collections, such as the Austrian Belvedere Gallery.
-----
Miklós Németh was significant for Hungarian modernism, with a strongly personal, expressive style. His art created image-laden emotional spaces, inspired by color, form and inner dynamics—without any implicit social or political agenda.
