AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

A unique and original work painted by hand by Raphaël Monnet

Raphaël Monnet develops a contemporary abstract painting in which color becomes material, rhythm, and movement.

He approaches the canvas as an space for experimentation. The painting is projected, accumulated, and confronted with opposing colors. The impacts cross each other, some areas densify while others allow the background to breathe.

His process does not rely on a pre-planned image, but on a progressive construction. Each intervention leads to the next until an equilibrium emerges between apparent disorder and pictorial organization.

Based within the Léo Varek workshop in France, Raphaël Monnet continues his research around the projection and superposition of colors. His works possess an immediate presence from afar and reveal, when approached, a multitude of details, nuances, and unexpected encounters between pigments.

Each canvas results from a unique process. The trajectory of the projections, the distribution of material, and the interactions between colors can never be reproduced identically.

Format and presentation

The indicated dimensions correspond to the total size of the canvas. A portion painted on the periphery is intended to be folded over the sides of the stretcher, without encroaching on the main composition.

Some images show the work staged to facilitate its projection into an interior. Proportions may vary slightly depending on the staging. Please refer to the dimensions indicated in the description to know the actual size of the work.

The edges are partially painted and allow for a clean finish after mounting.

Shipping

The work is shipped rolled in rigid protective packaging, without stretcher or frame.

Slight creases may appear on receipt. This is perfectly normal for a rolled canvas. These marks disappear naturally when the canvas is stretched.

For optimal results, it is recommended to have the canvas mounted on a frame by a local framer.

Shipments are made by express courier — DHL, FedEx or equivalent — with careful tracking until delivery.

Some particular destinations may incur additional shipping charges beyond my control. In such cases, the buyer will be informed before shipping to adjust the fees if necessary. Without approval of these charges, shipment cannot be made.

Additional information

Colors may vary slightly depending on screen settings and shooting conditions.
Frame and stretcher not included.
