Description from the seller
BONSAI JUNIPERUS PROCUMBENS – TANUKI WORK with DEADWOOD (JIN)
Scenic Style with a Natural Ancient and Venerable Look
For sale an fascinating specimen of Juniperus Procumbens set in the classic and appreciated Tanuki (Phoenix graft) technique. The live plant has been skillfully laid and fused onto a deadwood element (Jin), giving the whole piece a dramatic, aged look with great character, as if the tree had battled for years against high mountain weather.
The composition offers a broad and balanced crown of 45 cm that develops horizontally with a semi-cascade/stage posture, creating a dynamic contrast between the dense green foliage and the jutting dry branches.
DIMENSIONS AND DETAILED MEASUREMENTS:
Total height (from the pot): 29 cm
Crown width: 45 cm
Base trunk/structure diameter: 6 cm
Technique: Tanuki with deadwood (Jin)
Pot: Plastic cultivation/display pot 17 x 13 x 7 (H) cm
CHARACTERISTICS AND STRENGTHS:
Well-Established Tanuki Technique: The visual graft onto dry wood provides an immediate sense of maturity and venerability (vetustà) that would normally take decades.
Large and Dense Crown (45 cm): Juniperus Procumbens foliage healthy, compact, with the typical deep green color and short, defined needles.
Robust Trunk (6 cm): The base offers solid and stable proportions, perfect for a future repotting into a final exhibit ceramic pot.
Excellent Specimen to Finish: Ideal both as a ready-to-impact collectible piece, and for those who want to continue styling and cleaning the deadwood (Jin liquid).
Professional Packaging: Careful shipment with complete block of the pot and reinforced protection for branches and dried wood.
QUICK CULTIVATION TIPS:
Exposure: Outdoor plant only. Requires full sun to keep the foliage dense and prevent inner branches from shedding leaves.
Watering: Water thoroughly when the surface soil is dry. Evening mists on the crown are ideal in summer.
Deadwood Treatment: Periodically apply Jin liquid to the dry parts to whiten and protect them from humidity.
Resilience: Very hardy, tolerates winter cold very well.
