Description from the seller
Small-format bronze sculpture, limited edition by the Spanish sculptor Pancho Porto.
Pancho Porto (Santiago de Compostela, 1988) began his training in artistic cabinetmaking at the Antonio Failde center in Ourense. At this school he had his first contact with disciplines such as carving, drawing, or modeling, and, more importantly, with workshop work.
Later he enrolled at the Mestre Mateo School of Arts and Trades in Santiago de Compostela, where he studied what would become his main discipline in the future: sculpture. It is in this school where he already works with materials that will be central to his work, such as steel or clay. Parallel to this, Porto continues his self-directed training and investigates other materials such as bronze or resins and their many uses and finishes.
After this initial training phase, he decides to establish his workshop on the banks of the Sarela river, very close to where he was born. It is here that he begins his particular theoretical and practical investigation of the relationship between the materials used in each work and the message they convey. This leads him to seek new proposals when it comes to communicating and narrating his story. Since then, this has been the prevailing tone of his works, adding complexity and depth to his entire body of work, with themes that touch both the social sphere and his personal experiences.
