Description from the seller
BONSAI JUNIPER PROCUMBENS – TANUKI WORK WITH DEADWOOD (JIN)
Scenic Style with Natural Antiquity and Age Effect
For sale an intriguing specimen of Procumbens Juniper set up with the classic and appreciated Tanuki (Phoenix Graft) technique. The living plant has been skillfully laid and fused onto a deadwood element (Jin), giving the whole a dramatic, ancient, and highly characterful appearance, as if the tree had fought for years against the harsh high-mountain weather.
The composition offers a wide and balanced crown of 45 cm that develops horizontally with a semi-draped/raised stage posture, creating a dynamic contrast between dense green foliage and the protruding dry branches.
DIMENSIONS AND DETAILED MEASUREMENTS:
Total height (from the pot): 29 cm
Crown width: 45 cm
Diameter of base trunk/structure: 6 cm
Technique: Tanuki with deadwood (Jin)
Pot: Propagation/imposting plastic pot 17 x 13 x 7 (H) cm
FEATURES AND STRENGTHS:
Well-Established Tanuki Technique: The visual graft onto the dry wood provides an immediate sense of maturity and age (vetustà) that would normally take decades.
Large and Dense Crown (45 cm): Healthy, compact Procumbens Juniper foliage with the typical deep green color, short and defined needles.
Robust Trunk (6 cm): The base offers solid, stable proportions, perfect for a future repotting into a definitive ceramic exhibition pot.
Excellent Specimen to Finish: Ideal both as a ready-to-impress collectible piece and for those who wish to continue threading and cleaning the deadwood ( Jin liquid).
Professional Packaging: Careful shipping with total pot immobilization and reinforced protection for branches and loose bark.
QUICK CULTIVATION TIPS:
Exposure: Plant strictly for outdoor use. Requires full sun to keep the foliage dense and prevent interior branches from shedding.
Watering: Water thoroughly when the surface soil appears dry. Evening misting over the crown is excellent in summer.
Deadwood Treatment: Periodically apply Jin liquid to the dry parts to whiten and protect them from humidity.
Hardiness: Very rustic, tolerates winter cold very well.
