Jörg Döring is a painter who plays with imagery. Just like Andy Warhol, for Döring these images are a starting point, giving his work similarities to American Pop Art. According to Döring, however, that resemblance is only superficial: “There are many stylistic elements from that time but in fact it’s new and original material. Unlike classic Pop Art, I don’t just present the image; I add new content—about contemporary, even current topics. In this way you get an interesting double meaning.”
