"When the roads meet";: Two gestures cross space and meet inside a large circle, like paths that for an instant share the same destiny. Blues, ochres and oranges emerge from the material while black breaks the balance and imprints movement.
A gestural, instinctive work, built on the encounter between energy and silence.
PAOLO CONTIN has been developing his personal artistic path for over twenty-five years and it is continuously evolving. Trained in design and active since 1980 in the fashion world, he transfers to painting a particular sensitivity to color, form and compositional balance.
Since 1999 he has exhibited his works and in 2002 he held his first solo show in Padua. This was followed by numerous exhibitions in Italy and abroad, with appearances in Copenhagen, Munich, Paris, Brussels, Istanbul, Buenos Aires and Sydney.
Paolo Contin's artistic journey is also documented by his inclusion in the Mondadori Art catalog with related appraisals. Over the years his works have also been published in Arte Mondadori magazine and in numerous catalogs and volumes produced for solo shows and major art fairs, some of which were published with the support of the Italian Cultural Institute.
He was also among the founding members of Tostart, an artistic association born from the meeting of ten Venetian artists and active until the pandemic period.
An eclectic and independent artist, Contin has built over the years a recognizable language, far from belonging to a single school or trend. His research traverses geometric abstraction, material and gestural painting, alternating rigor and expressive freedom. Lines, fields, geometric shapes and intense color relations become elements of a vocabulary through which he investigates balance, movement and emotion.
Experimentation also extends to sculpture and wood, with works built through the overlapping of geometric elements, confirming a research that goes beyond the boundaries of painting alone.
His work continues to evolve today without predefined formulas: every work is born from the desire to preserve freedom, identity and expressive authenticity.
