Description from the seller
Handwritten letter to 'Dear Mrs. Stuut'. 13.7 x 21.7 cm. On pre-printed letterhead of 'Mr. H. P. Schönfeld Wichers'. One sheet. Recto and verso. Signed 'Belcampo' and dated 'Groningen 11.8 '83'. 19 lines of text. Two strips of tape in the margin.
Accompanying letter to The Philosophy of Belcampism (1972), on which the author has worked two and a half years: 'Studying all those other philosophies cost me the most time'. Referring to the modest reception and sale of the book: 'the expectation, stated on the back cover ['The free breath that moves through these pages will carry it to all winds'], was, at least in the short term, not fulfilled'. Furthermore about a possible blood relationship between the author and the reader ('a double binding'), followed by surnames and years. 'In those days I traced the entire lineage here in the provincial archive, where also a whole procession of Stuuten'.
