Description from the seller
Title: "The Scarlet Quiet"
This extraordinary work by Roberto Mauri, an oil on canvas with an extremely panoramic horizontal format (30x60 cm), is a masterpiece of pure color and stylized composition that dominates the space. The canvas unfolds like a long frieze, divided into three almost geometrically horizontal color bands.
The foreground, a vast expanse occupying most of the height, is a vibrant, tactile sea of scarlet poppies, painted with dense, textured brushstrokes that evoke palpable tactility. Above this blazing base extends a steep, narrow hill of bright acid green, dotted with stylized, lush trees. On the left, a large tree casts a long, definite dark shadow across the red field, a dramatic contrast that still anchors the scene. In the center, a small rural cottage with a red roof and gray walls sits on the ridge, offering a human scale focal point. The background is dominated by a deep, intense cobalt blue sky, interrupted only by a soft white cloud to the right. At the far right horizon, tiny white sails hint at a distant presence of water. The signature "MAURI" is visible in the lower left. The work exudes extraordinary visual energy, balancing the power of saturated color with a clean geometric composition, evoking a rural quietude filled with life.
