Description from the seller
ORA VIENNA, Mixed media, Acrylic painting, Gold leaf · Digital painting · Hand-signed · 2026
The face occupies the whole canvas, frontal, offered. The eyelids are closed, the heavy lashes laid like two strokes of black ink, and the full mouth remains closed on a silence that has nothing sad about it: the calm of a woman who prays or contemplates. The skin tone is blue — a deep ultramarine at the temples, a bright cyan along the bridge of the nose and the fullness of the lower lip — and this night skin becomes the bed of gold. The gold leaf, laid by hand, bursts into irregular continents on the forehead, the right cheekbone, the left cheek, the chin; it cracks, tears, reveals the blue underneath like a fresco unsealed. Fine cracks run from the forehead to the lip, a network of crazing that gives the face the age of an icon. Surrounding it, the black hair dissolves into drips and broad brushstrokes, and the background alternates blue bands and matte black. In the bottom right corner, the white monogram of the Atelier, drawn with a single gesture. The work celebrates beauty that crosses time without defense: the lineage runs from Byzantine gold ground to Klimt and to the Vienna Secession, with the nervy linework of Schiele.
Technique mixte : acrylic paint and gold leaf on ink-pigment print, matte varnish sprayed.
Gold leaf and varnish applied by hand, for the brilliance of the golds and the durable protection of the work.
Support: premium canvas stretched on a wooden frame, ready to hang.
Format: 40 x 40 cm.
Signed ORA VIENNA · Galerie Labo Joconde / Atelier Joconde · certificate of authenticity provided.
ORA VIENNA is one of the creations bringing together artists Le Yack, Neo Pablo and Popsan within Atelier Joconde, a family studio where three sensibilities coexist: neo-realism, pop, and libre figurative. Under the name ORA VIENNE, the gold of Vienna, the Atelier explores the vein of the Vienna Secession and Klimt’s golden age: golden mosaics, sensuality of flesh, impasto and gold leaf laid by hand.
ORA VIENNE brings together figures of women captured in frames of gold and darkness, sovereigns, lovers or dreamers, where the living body dialogue with the timeless shine of the precious metal. The thread: a bridge between Symbolist and Art Nouveau heritage and a contemporary gaze, where the painting material and gold leaf enhance and transfigure the printed image.
Each work is a unique piece.
