Naturalistic depiction of a parrot sitting on a tree trunk above a rock base, this one with applied cherries, blossoms and leaves. Model by Johann Joachim Kaendler (1706 Dresden - 1775 Meissen) from 1764. As head of the sculptural department of the Meissen porcelain manufactory, Kaendler is considered the most important porcelain modeler of the 18th century.
