Decorative cast-iron doormat – richly ornamental pattern – white painted – rustic garden and entrance decoration

A particularly decorative cast-iron doormat with a richly worked openwork pattern of graceful scrolls, leaves and floral motifs. The central grid is framed by symmetrical ornaments, giving the mat an attractive classic look.

The doormat is made of heavy cast iron and finished with a white paint layer, which has weathered locally due to age and use. It is precisely this combination of visible wear, light rusting and a seasoned finish that gives the piece an appealing rustic and countryside look.

This type of cast iron mat was traditionally used at an entrance or exterior door to wipe dirt from shoes, but today it is just as loved as a decorative element for a country home, veranda, conservatory, garden shed or classical entrance.

Beautiful ornamental design

The mat has a rectangular shape with a central diagonal lattice. Around it lies a richly open decorative pattern with:

* leaf and flower ornaments

Because of the open design, dirt easily lies under the mat, while the heavy cast iron provides a solid appearance.

Condition

The doormat is in an authentic used vintage state. The white paint shows wear, paint loss, rust spots and signs of age, appropriate to use and age.

Important: on one side there is a crack/fracture in the iron. This is clearly visible in the detail photos and is explicitly noted. Nevertheless, the whole remains a lovely decorative and characterful object.
