This skull emerges from the canvas like an unstable apparition, a vestige torn from the darkness yet still pierced by conflicting forces. Its structure, barely held together by cool shades of white, gray, and blue, seems to waver, as if the form itself hesitates between freezing and dissolving.
Around it, shards of color — orange, pink, yellow, bright blue — are not mere ornaments: they strike the surface, disrupt it, open it up.
One reads the artist’s gesture there, nervous, impulsive, almost violent, transforming this symbol of death into a chromatic battlefield.
The background, dark yet animated by glimmers, gives the skull almost cosmic depth, a space where it floats, suspended between appearance and disappearance.
This is not a classical vanitas, but a struggle: matter resists immobilization, color challenges the silence of the bone.
The painting thus becomes a paradoxical statement, a way of saying that even what represents the end can still vibrate, explode, reinvent itself.
Discrete artist Saname is on the rise!!!!
