"A Dive into the Blue": A large blue surface, deep and textural, is traversed by a single warm and luminous gesture. The material emerges from the bottom and creates movement, tension and depth, leaving the viewer with full freedom of interpretation. An essential work built on the contrast between quiet and sudden energy.
PAOLO CONTIN has developed a personal artistic path for over twenty-five years and it continues to evolve. Trained in design and active since 1980 in the fashion world, he transfers to painting a particular sensitivity to color, form and compositional balance.
Since 1999 he has been exhibiting his works and in 2002 he held his first solo show in Padua. Followed by numerous exhibitions in Italy and abroad with appearances in Copenhagen, Munich, Paris, Brussels, Istanbul, Buenos Aires and Sydney.
The artistic journey of Paolo Contin is also documented by his inclusion in the Mondadori Art Catalog with corresponding valuations. Over the years his works have also been published in Arte Mondadori magazine and in numerous catalogs and volumes produced for solo shows and major Art Fairs, some published with the support of the Italian Cultural Institute.
He was also among the founding members of Tostart, an artistic association born from the meeting of ten Venetian artists and active with important exhibitions in prestigious locations up to the period of the Pandemic.
A versatile and independent artist, Contin has built over the years a recognizable language, distant from belonging to a single school or trend. His research traverses geometric abstraction, material and gestural painting, alternating rigor and expressive freedom. Lines, fields, geometric shapes and intense color relationships become elements of a vocabulary through which he explores balance, movement and emotion.
The experimentation extends to sculpture and wood, with works built through the layering of geometric elements, confirming a research that goes beyond the boundaries of painting alone.
His work continues to evolve today without pre-set formulas: each work is born from the desire to preserve freedom, identity and expressive authenticity.
