Marnix Peeters - Der Pottwal - 2016

Der Pottwal is the first (bibliophile) book by Marnix Peeters, written at the request of De Carbolineum Pers, and also the first book he illustrated himself. It is the tragic love story of the doomed relationship between two lesbians and it takes place in Regensburg, Germany. Contrary to what the title suggests, the book is in Dutch.

The text was set by hand in Horley Old Style 12 point and printed with a handpress on hand-made Zerkall paper. The illustrations were also printed with the hand press.

The edition of Der Pottwal consists of 50 numbered and signed copies, of which I to X are bound in parchment and 1 to 40 are sewn and glued in a red cover, placed in a printed slipcase. This is number 20.

Shortly after publication, the book was already sold out.
