Description from the seller
Lambidis – Silver-plated Copper Water Jug / Pitcher – Elegant Neoclassical Design – Greece – Mid to Late 20th Century
An elegant and generously sized silver-plated water jug or pitcher, crafted by the Greek silversmith Lambidis Original Silverware, renowned for producing high-quality silver-plated tableware with timeless, refined designs.
The jug features a beautifully balanced pear-shaped body resting on a stepped circular foot, complemented by a gracefully curved handle and a wide pouring spout. The minimalist silhouette, combined with its brilliant mirror-polished finish, gives the piece a sophisticated neoclassical appearance that fits both traditional and contemporary interiors.
Originally intended as a water or wine pitcher, the piece is equally attractive today as a decorative vase. The copper base metal is visible inside due to normal wear of the silver plating, making it especially suitable for displaying fresh flower arrangements, as shown in the photographs.
The underside bears the maker's mark Lambidis Original Silverware, confirming its Greek manufacture.
Condition
Good vintage condition with signs of age and use. The silver plating shows light surface scratches and some wear consistent with careful use. The interior reveals the underlying copper from years of polishing and use. No dents, cracks or repairs.
Dimensions
Height: approx. 23.5 cm
Length (including handle): approx. 19 cm
Width: approx. 12 cm
Weight: approx. 960 g
A refined and decorative example of Greek silver-plated craftsmanship, ideal for collectors of quality tableware or as an elegant statement piece for floral arrangements and interior decoration.
