Val Saint Lambert centrepiece in crystal with a metal pedestal, a circular cut rimmed bowl on a fluted cylindrical column with a tripartite base, dating to circa 1913–1915 and signed VAL ST LAMBERT BELGIQUE on the bowl bottom, in very good structural condition with wear to the metal surface.
Description from the seller
Beautiful Centerpiece / Fruit Bowl "Bambous et Étoiles" – Val Saint Lambert
Production Date / Period: Circa 1913–1915 (Art Nouveau Period / Edwardian Era).
Marking: Piece signed in relief on the bottom of the cup: "VAL ST LAMBERT BELGIQUE" (as visible in the macro signature image).
Materials: Upper plate in fine crystal (pressed and cut glass of high quality); pedestal in worked cast metal (probably regulus alloy or antimony with a dark patina of the period).
Detailed Description: Elegant centerpiece comprising a circular bowl with a scalloped and wavy rim. The glass body features radial geometric facets with stars of fine points and relief ridges ("bambous"). It rests on a central cylindrical column fixed to a tripartite base in historicist/Art Nouveau style, richly decorated with volutes, foliage, and smooth-relief oval medallions.
It is in very good structural condition, very solid; the crystal is truly excellent, with no flaws, chips, etc., it has been very well cared for. The metal part shows wear to the silvering, normal for a piece over 100 years old. The support between the silvered metal base and the crystal cup is in metal of a different color; it seems to me to be original and not a modified piece, everything fits together perfectly.
