Pair of vases or tureens (vase with lid) from the Longo Porcellane manufacture, a historic Italian excellence renowned internationally for the technique of gilding on porcelain, an elaborate method of engraving and decoration that combine the purity of satin or glossy porcelain with the application of precious metals.
The company has distinguished itself for the engraving and cold-working of precious metals on ceramics, inspired by the historic English techniques of the nineteenth century.
The golden finishes visible on the leaves, on the rims and on the lids are not mere varnishes, but layers of real gilt gold applied by hand before the final high-temperature firing.
