Vintage front-frame produced before 2000, never worn, coming from a corporate withdrawal at an optical shop that has ceased activity. It is equipped with new sunglasses lenses, CE marked. There are minor signs of storage and yellowing of the nose pads, visible in the photographs.

AUTHENTICITY, CONDITION AND DOCUMENTATION

Verifying condition and authenticity is a central element of our activity. Jewelry in gold and silver, silverware, watches, clothing and signed accessories are examined according to the characteristics of the single item and the available documentation.

Any certificates or expert reports are provided when expressly indicated in the description or may be requested before bidding, agreeing on availability, content and any costs. The Catawiki expert review is separate from our expert appraisal and does not replace an individual certificate.

The description and photographs document the proposed item, its accessories and stated conditions. For used or vintage items, signs of time and use are evaluated in relation to the nature, era and condition of the article. The photographs supplement the description without limiting responsibility for inaccurate features or undisclosed defects.

Only accessories and documents expressly indicated are included. The cited brands belong to their respective owners; their mention identifies the objects and does not imply affiliation or authorization by the house.

PREPARATION, SHIPMENT AND DELIVERY

Each item is checked, cleaned or sanitized using methods compatible with the materials and its preservation, then carefully packaged.

Shipping is trackable and insured according to the service conditions used. Items may be located in different warehouses: allow roughly 7–10 days for delivery, unless otherwise indicated in the order, for special destinations or customs delays. Shipping will be completed under the terms provided by Catawiki and communicated for the order; the estimated delivery time does not extend the shipment deadline.

Upon receipt, check the packaging. In case of dents, cuts, openings or breakages, ask the courier to note a specific reservation, when possible. We recommend photographing the package before and after opening and keeping packaging, protections and label to facilitate any insurance investigations.

The absence of a reservation, photos or packaging does not automatically determine the loss of consumer rights. For consumer sales, the risk of transport is governed by art. 63 of the Consumer Code.

ASSISTANCE AND REPORTS

For any clarification or issue, contact us via the order message on Catawiki, indicating the lot number and describing what you found.

In case of damage, item not as described or missing contents, promptly report the problem to Catawiki support as well, preferably immediately and in any case within 3 days as per the platform procedure, to allow claim handling and possible suspension of payment.

This operative term does not entail waiving the right of withdrawal or the legal guarantee under applicable terms.

CONSUMER WITHDRAWAL

When the buyer acts as a consumer and legal prerequisites are met, they may exercise the right of withdrawal without reason within 14 days of receiving the item, pursuant to articles 52 et seq. of Legislative Decree 206/2005, with exceptions provided by law.

The decision must be communicated to the seller via an explicit statement, also using the Catawiki procedure. The item must be shipped back within 14 days of withdrawal notification.

For simple reconsideration, the direct cost of return is borne by the buyer, unless otherwise agreed. The amounts due by law, including standard initial delivery costs, will be refunded; higher costs for a more expensive delivery chosen by the buyer are not due.

The refund is made without undue delay and within legal time limits, with possible suspension until the item is received or proof of return, under the conditions provided by the regulations. Amounts collected directly by Catawiki are managed through the platform under its respective powers, subject to non-derogable rights.

The buyer is responsible for any reduction in value resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to verify nature, characteristics and functioning of the item, within the law.

LEGAL GUARANTEE AND DEFECTS OF CONFORMITY

In consumer sales the legal conformity guarantee provided by articles 128 et seq. of the Consumer Code applies, also for used goods, taking into account prior use and contractually declared features.

The ordinary duration of liability is two years from delivery. For used goods, a possible reduction, not less than one year, applies only if validly agreed and allowed by the applicable rules.

In case of a defect of conformity, the consumer is entitled to remedies provided by the law: repair or replacement, where practicable, or reduction of price or rescission of the contract when the conditions apply.

Our commercial preference is to resolve justified disputes through return of the item and full refund when appropriate, rather than negotiating informal discounts. This preference does not exclude mandatory remedies, including price reduction.

When return results from a defect attributable to the seller, the necessary costs are borne by us under the terms of law. Expenses for other cancellation scenarios are determined by the cause of cancellation and applicable provisions.

RETURNS, REPAIRS AND INTEGRITY OF THE ITEM

Before performing repairs, restorations, adjustments or interventions by third parties, contact us to allow problem verification and to agree on a solution. Unauthorized interventions can alter the original state, compromise verifications and affect responsibility for damages or defects caused by them.

There is no automatic refund for interventions commissioned to third parties. The buyer’s non-derogable rights remain: an unauthorized intervention does not by itself cause loss of all protection for defects independent of the intervention.

The returned item must include the accessories and documents received and be protected with appropriate packaging. Please attach the order reference and, if available, a copy of the sale document. The original receipt is not the only admissible means to prove the purchase.

EXTRA-EU SHIPMENTS AND CUSTOMS REQUIREMENTS

For destinations outside the European Union, including the United Kingdom, Switzerland, China, Taiwan, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates, duties, taxes and customs charges may apply depending on the destination and order conditions. Amounts already collected by the platform should not be considered automatically due again.

When necessary, fiscal or identifying data may be requested for customs clearance. The passport number will be requested only if actually required by applicable rules or the carrier or competent authority documented instructions.

We invite buyers to check for import restrictions in advance. For goods subject to special regimes, including CITES or cultural heritage, shipping remains subject to the legal possibility of export/import and the required documents.

CUSTOMER IDENTIFICATION AND DATA PROTECTION

In the case of distance selling of precious items subject to identification obligations, a valid identity document is required and remote identification is performed according to the modalities provided by applicable law.

If essential information is missing to comply with a legal obligation, the transaction cannot be completed until regularization. Any cancellation and refund will be handled with Catawiki according to the applicable law and conditions, without automatic exclusion of responsibility.

Personal data will be processed for contractual, tax, customs purposes and for applicable legal obligations, in compliance with EU Regulation 2016/679 and Legislative Decree 196/2003. Only necessary data will be requested, with information on purposes, methods and retention times.
