AUTHENTICITY, CONDITIONS AND DOCUMENTATION

Verifying conditions and authenticity is central to our activity. Jewelry in gold and silver, silverware, watches, signed clothes and accessories are examined according to the characteristics of the individual item and the available documentation.

Any certificates or expert reports are provided when expressly indicated in the description or can be requested before the offer, agreeing on availability, content and any costs. Catawiki expert review is separate from our expert activity and does not replace an individual certificate.

Description and photographs document the proposed item, its accessories and the declared conditions. For used or vintage items, signs of age and use are assessed in relation to the nature, era and condition of the article. Photographs complement the description without limiting responsibility for incorrect features or undisclosed defects.

Only accessories and documents expressly indicated are included. The brands cited belong to their respective owners; their mention identifies the objects and does not imply affiliation or authorization of the house.

PREPARATION, SHIPMENT AND DELIVERY

Each item is checked, cleaned or sanitized using methods compatible with the materials and its storage, then carefully packaged.

Shipping is tracked and insured according to the service conditions used. Items may be located in different warehouses: expect approximately 7–10 days for delivery, unless otherwise indicated in the order, for special destinations or customs delays. Shipping will occur under the terms provided by Catawiki and communicated for the order; the estimated delivery time does not constitute an extension of the shipping deadline.

Upon receipt, inspect the packaging. In the event of dents, cuts, openings or breaks, ask the courier to note a specific reservation, when possible. We advise photographing the package before and after opening and to keep packaging, protective materials and the label to facilitate any insurance verifications.

The absence of a reservation, photographs or packaging does not automatically forfeit the consumer’s non-derogable rights. In consumer sales, the risk of transport is governed by art. 63 of the Consumer Code.

ASSISTANCE AND REPORTS

For any clarification or issue, contact us via the order messaging on Catawiki, specifying the lot number and describing what was observed.

In case of damage, item not in accordance with the description, or missing content, promptly report the issue also to Catawiki support, preferably immediately and in any case within the 3 days provided by the platform procedure, to enable claim handling and possible suspension of payment.

This operational term does not imply waiver of the right of withdrawal or of the legal guarantee under applicable terms.

CONSUMER WITHDRAWAL

When the buyer acts as a consumer and the legal requirements apply, they may exercise the right of withdrawal without motivation within 14 days of receiving the item, pursuant to arts. 52 et seq. of Legislative Decree 206/2005, subject to statutory exceptions.

The decision must be communicated by explicit declaration to the seller, also using the Catawiki procedure. The item must be shipped back within 14 days of withdrawal notification.

For mere reconsideration, the direct cost of return is borne by the buyer, unless otherwise agreed. The amounts due by law, including standard initial delivery costs, will be refunded; higher costs for a more expensive delivery chosen by the buyer are not refundable.

The refund is made without undue delay and within the legally prescribed terms, with the possibility to suspend it until receipt of the item or proof of return, in accordance with the statutory provisions. Amounts collected by Catawiki are managed through the platform according to their competence, subject to non-derogable rights.

The buyer is responsible for any decrease in value resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to verify the nature, characteristics and functioning of the item, within legal limits.

LEGAL GUARANTEE AND CONFORMITY DEFECTS

In consumer sales, the legal conformity guarantee provided by arts. 128 et seq. of the Consumer Code applies, even for used goods, considering prior use and contractually declared characteristics.

The ordinary duration of liability is two years from delivery. For used goods, any reduction, not less than one year, applies only if validly agreed and allowed by applicable rules.

In the event of a conformity defect, the consumer is entitled to remedies provided by law: repair or replacement, where feasible, or reduction of price or termination of the contract when warranted.

Our commercial preference is to resolve valid disputes by returning the item and providing a full refund when appropriate, rather than negotiating informal discounts. This preference does not exclude mandatory remedies, including price reduction.

When return is due to a defect attributable to the seller, the necessary costs are borne by us within the limits of the law. Costs for other cancellation scenarios are determined by the cause of cancellation and applicable provisions.

RETURNS, REPAIRS AND INTEGRITY OF THE ITEM

Before undertaking repairs, restorations, adjustments or interventions by third parties, contact us to allow problem verification and agreement on the solution. Unauthorized work may alter the original state, compromise inspections and affect liability for damages or defects caused by them.

Automatic refunds for third-party work are not provided. The buyer’s non-derogable rights remain intact: an unauthorized intervention does not by itself result in loss of protection for defects independent of the intervention.

The returned item must include accessories and documents received and be protected with appropriate packaging. Please attach the order reference and, if available, a copy of the sales document. The original receipt is not the only accepted means to prove purchase.

EXTRA-EU SHIPMENTS AND CUSTOMS DUTIES

For destinations outside the European Union, including the United Kingdom, Switzerland, China, Taiwan, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates, duties, taxes and clearance fees may apply according to the destination and order conditions. Amounts already collected by the platform should not be considered automatically due a second time.

Where necessary, tax or identifying data may be requested for clearance. A passport number will be requested only if actually required under applicable rules or the carrier’s or competent authority’s documented instructions.

We invite buyers to check for import restrictions in advance. For items subject to CITES or cultural property regimes, shipping remains subject to legal export/import possibilities and the required documents.

IDENTIFICATION OF THE CLIENT AND DATA PROTECTION

In the case of distant sale of jewelry subject to identification obligations, a valid identity document is requested and remote identification is performed according to the modalities provided by applicable law.

If essential information is missing to comply with a legal obligation, the operation cannot be completed until rectified. Any cancellation and refund will be managed with Catawiki in accordance with applicable law and conditions, without automatic liability exclusions.

Personal data will be treated for contractual, tax, customs and applicable legal obligations, in compliance with EU Regulation 2016/679 and Legislative Decree 196/2003. Only necessary data will be requested, with information on purposes, methods and retention periods.
