AUTHENTICITY, CONDITION AND DOCUMENTATION

Verifying conditions and authenticity is a central element of our activity. Jewelry in gold and silver, silverware, watches, signed clothing and accessories are examined according to the characteristics of the individual item and available documentation.

Any certificates or expert reports are provided when explicitly indicated in the description or can be requested before the offer, agreeing on availability, content and any costs. Catawiki’s expert review is separate from our expert activity and does not replace an individual certificate.

Description and photographs document the proposed item, its accessories and declared conditions. For used or vintage items, signs of time and use are assessed in relation to the nature, era and condition of the item. Photographs complement the description without limiting responsibility for incorrect features or undisclosed defects.

Only accessories and documents expressly indicated are included. The brands mentioned belong to their respective owners; mentioning them identifies the objects and does not imply affiliation or authorization by the house.

PREPARATION, SHIPMENT AND DELIVERY

Each item is checked, cleaned or sanitized using methods compatible with the materials and its preservation, then carefully packed.

Shipping is tracked and insured according to the service conditions used. Items may be stored in different warehouses: allow approximately 7–10 days for delivery, unless otherwise indicated in the order, for special destinations or customs times. Shipment will occur within the terms of Catawiki and communicated for the order; the estimated delivery time does not extend the shipping deadline.

Upon receipt, check the package. In case of dents, cuts, openings or breaks, ask the courier to note a specific reservation when possible. We recommend photographing the package before and after opening and keeping the packaging, protections and label to aid any insurance verifications.

The absence of a reservation, photographs or packaging does not automatically determine the loss of the consumer’s non-derogable rights. In consumer sales, the risk of transport is governed by Art. 63 of the Consumer Code.

ASSISTANCE AND REPORTS

For any clarification or problem, contact us via the order messaging on Catawiki, indicating the lot number and describing what was found.

In case of damages, item not conforming to description or missing contents, promptly report the issue also to Catawiki support, preferably immediately and in any case within the 3 days provided by the platform procedure, to enable complaint handling and possible suspension of payment.

This operational term does not imply waiver of the right of withdrawal or of the legal guarantee under applicable terms.

CONSUMER WITHDRAWAL

When the buyer acts as a consumer and the legal requirements are met, they may exercise the right of withdrawal without motivation within 14 days of receipt of the item, pursuant to Arts. 52 et seq. of Legislative Decree 206/2005, subject to legal exceptions.

The decision must be communicated by explicit declaration to the seller, also using the Catawiki procedure. The item must be returned within 14 days of withdrawal communication.

For mere reconsideration, the direct cost of return is borne by the buyer, unless otherwise agreed. Amounts due by law, including standard initial delivery charges, will be reimbursed; higher costs for a more expensive delivery chosen by the buyer are not due.

Refund is made without undue delay and within legal terms, with the possibility of withholding it until receipt of the item or proof of return, under the conditions provided by the regulations. Amounts collected directly by Catawiki are managed through the platform according to respective competencies, without affecting the consumer's irrevocable rights.

The buyer is liable for any diminished value resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to verify the nature, characteristics and functioning of the item, within legal limits.

LEGAL WARRANTY AND CONFORMITY DEFECTS

In consumer sales, the legal conformity warranty provided by Arts. 128 et seq. of the Consumer Code also applies to used goods, taking into account prior use and contractually declared characteristics.

The ordinary duration of liability is two years from delivery. For used goods, a possible reduction, but not less than one year, applies only if validly agreed and permitted by applicable rules.

If a conformity defect is present, the consumer is entitled to remedies provided by law: repair or replacement, where feasible, or reduction of price or contract termination when the conditions apply.

Our commercial preference is to resolve valid disputes by returning the item and providing a full refund where appropriate, rather than negotiating informal discounts. This preference does not exclude mandatory remedies, including price reduction.

When return depends on a defect attributable to the seller, the necessary expenses are borne by us within the terms of the law. Expenses for other withdrawal scenarios are determined by the cause of withdrawal and applicable provisions.

RETURNS, REPAIRS AND INTEGRITY OF THE ITEM

Before carrying out repairs, restorations, adjustments or interventions by third parties, contact us to allow problem verification and agreement on the solution. Unauthorized interventions can alter the original state, compromise assessments and affect liability for damages or defects caused by them.

There is no automatic refund for interventions commissioned independently to third parties. The buyer’s irrevocable rights remain: an unauthorized intervention does not by itself determine loss of any protection for defects independent of the intervention.

The returned item must include the accessories and documents received and be protected with appropriate packaging. Please attach the order reference and, if available, a copy of the proof of purchase. The original receipt is not the only permissible means to prove purchase.

EXTRA-EU SHIPMENTS AND CUSTOMS REQUIREMENTS

For destinations outside the European Union, including the United Kingdom, Switzerland, China, Taiwan, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates, duties, taxes and clearance costs may apply, depending on the destination and order conditions. Amounts already collected by the platform should not be automatically due a second time.

When required, fiscal or identifying data may be requested for customs clearance. A passport number will be requested only if actually necessary under applicable rules or carrier/authority instructions.

We invite buyers to pre-check import restrictions. For items subject to special regimes, including CITES or cultural property rules, shipping remains contingent on legal export/import possibilities and the required documents.

IDENTITY VERIFICATION AND DATA PROTECTION

In case of distance sale of jewelry subject to identification obligations, a valid ID document is requested and remote identification is performed according to the modalities provided by applicable law.

If indispensable information is missing to comply with a legal obligation, the transaction cannot be completed until regularized. Any cancellation and refund will be handled with Catawiki according to the applicable law and conditions, without automatic exclusions of responsibility.

Personal data will be processed for contractual, fiscal, customs purposes and for applicable legal obligations, in compliance with EU Regulation 2016/679 and Legislative Decree 196/2003. Only data necessary will be requested, with information on purposes, methods and retention times.
